Witnesses of Truth: Bringing the Reality of Captivity to Zaandam

“I survived to be the voice of those who are still there.”

These words by Oleksii Anulia stayed with us long after the evening ended.

On 19.02.2026 we had the profound honor of hosting Oleksii former POW, survivor of 10 months of brutal captivity, and author of “Jingle BellZ” His testimony is not only a story of survival. It is a mission: to ensure the world does not look away from the thousands of Ukrainians who remain in Russian captivity.

To deepen the context, we screened the documentary “Witnesses. Captivity Kills” from DocuDays UA. Together, testimony and film created a space for reflection, truth, and responsibility.
